2 comments Pi Day - 03.14.08

So here's the final drawing of my Pi poster's design. It would probably be a lot nice if I had used oil pastels (36↑ colors) instead of color pencils (12 colors), but didn't feel like getting my hands dirty at the time. Perhaps I should say that, "if I had spent more time on it".
Due to the limitation of colors available (and the way laptop monitors show colors), some of the hex-colors are not probably presented in the poster.

Juxtaposition of the original design and final drawing.
My drawing won the second place in my class' competitions, out of 5 or 6, can't remember. Surprisingly, the winning design was drawn in Microsoft Windows' Paint (not that there's anything wrong with it)!
Well, I will just want to wish everybody Happy Pi Day 2008!
P.S. RIP Ashley D. (a girl who goes to my school - I don't know her personally - passed away this week)
2 comments Pi Day Poster - 03.11.08

My pre-calculus has a little contest called the "Circles, Circles Everywhere Poster Contest" this year to celebrate the upcoming (20th) Pi Day this Friday on March 14 (3/14).
The contest has very simple requirements that only needs us to have "circles, π, and the approximate value to at least 10 digits" on our posters.
So above is a scan of my rough sketch of my initial design. (The biggest circle is sort of like this one here.) The end result on a 11-in x 14-in poster will definitely look a heck lot different.
What colors should I use? (Pi Digits -> Hex Colors!)

Sometimes when people ask me for a favor, I will ask them to give me "ten good reasons" why I have to do the favor for them. Usually it's because I don't feel like doing the favor, but a lot of times it's because I want to see how creative the person is, or just for some personal lulz.
So far, no single person has given me the ten good reasons. Thanks to everyone for their effort though.
For the rest of the favors, I just do them without looking forward for anything in return. Or, who knows, something good might just come back to me in a long run? (smirks)
2 comments iPod: Brick - 03.02.08

New personal record for the Brick game on my iPod (nano), standing at 420. The previous record is a little bit above 300, can't remember the exact figure though.
*For the Parachute game I once had over 1000 points, but that was a malfunction, so doesn't really count as part of my madskillz.
